The "If I Only Had Today" CD hit #1 on Billboard's Heatseeker Chart for the Mountain Region the week of October 20th!!!

It was 4 years ago Hilary last released an album of all new songs.  The highly anticipated new album "If I Only Had Today" is now on store shelves and available online.  Featuring the songs "If I Only Had Today" and "Just Let Me Cry", Hilary calls this album her favorite.  In her words she describes her experience in writing the album...

"God will never let us down. It took me fifteen years and seven CDs to learn that. While creating my first six album projects I spent many tear-filled nights wondering if I could write songs that were good enough. Was I good enough? As I began writing for this CD I came to the realization that, though all along I may not have been good enough, God has been. He has made up the difference. Every time. As I approached this seventh project I decided to trust Heavenly Father completely. I was not going to worry about whether or not the songs would come—I just believed they would. And they did. Turns out, this is the most pleasant writing experience I have ever had. The late-night tears were replaced with trust and I felt God's hand in every song. He is there for us. And He will never let us down. I believe that. May these songs carry that witness to your heart."

 Yes, Hilary has written a book.  At the beginning of the year, Hilary received a call from Jana Erickson, one of the book publishers from Deseret Book, with an unusual request.  "What would you think about writing a book?" Her initial response was "I write songs, not books!"  But Jana asked her to at least consider the idea.  After several weeks of trying to dismiss the idea, Hilary decided to give it a try. Why? Again in her words...

"I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN A book. Oh wait, I take that back. Yes, I have; I was in second grade. It was a book about a little brown bear named Cuddles who got lost while picking flowers in the woods. I love happy endings, so Cuddles eventually found his way home. I hesitate to toot my own horn, but I was also the illustrator. If I do say so myself, the illustrations were almost as good as the story line.

Considering my illustrious career as an author, you might be surprised to know that when I was invited to write this book I felt unequal to the task. However, I accepted the challenge, and this is why: Everyone needs reminders. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t need a reminder now and then. That is why we have calendars, PDAs, laptops, alarm clocks, day planners, sticky notes, string to tie on our fingers. After all the reminders about appointments, meetings, carpools, and deadlines, there is one reminder we need most of all: God loves us. Inside each one of us is the need to know that Heavenly Father is aware of us, that He believes in us, and that He understands how hard we are trying."
