I love everything about the theme and the idea of thinking, believing and living…higher! I love how the word “high-er” implies that we are already elevated and now we are ready to reach, move and be even higher! Love it.
I was invited to write a song to go with the theme for this year. I spent a lot of time during the wonderfully snowy days of Christmas vacation at the piano writing. I am nearly done…and I am pleased with how it turned out!
Now, I just need to present the song to the TOFW folks and see how they like it…
If they approve, then, we’ll head into the studio and get it recorded in time for our first event on Febuary 2nd!

What an awesome talent and opportunity you have. I really cannot even imagine being able to WRITE a song. I am so thankful for people like you who use their talents to bring the Spirit in ways that only music can. You literally LIFT others with your music and help us to strive to reach our own greater potential. Thank you so much for being a wonderful instrument in Heavenly Father’s hands. My daughter just got married and that has been an emotional, gut wrenching experience. I love the guy, she’s mature, ready, all good, but I’m not ready. Yet, I birthed her to fly–to continue to move beyond my reach.
Anyway, as I was writing a hilarious/wrenching essay for the ring ceremony and agonizing in the very depths of mommy mourning, I thought, “Dang, wish Hilary had one old enough to deal with this! I need a song!”
Hope Born To Fly will do it!

LOVE your music!! Our ward recently watched the TOFW video on the clickers and it was a HIT!! Such a powerful message! Thank you for sharing this with us and helping us to see the good! I was at TOFW this weekend, in Layton, this song was WONDERFUL (and you’re other new one, I can’t wait for the new cd!)!
You are such a talented speaker, and extremely uplifting, you were by far my favorite. You said so many things that hit home for me, I really needed to hear them! Thank you for being so wonderful!
