The “I Know” Stage

My five-year old is in it.

She knows everything.  She knows things that I don’t even know.  She definitely knows things that college professors wouldn’t know.  Some things that she knows, it would seem, you’d have to be a psychic to know.

The other day after a tough work out, I lamented, “Oh!  My leg muscles are sore.”  Her response…

“I know.”

It wasn’t a sympathetic “I know,” it was a matter-of-fact “I know.”  Of course she knew.  Who wouldn’t know that my legs were sore?

???

Not more than an hour ago, Tim told her that if she didn’t go up to her room on her own (she had gotten herself in a wee bit of trouble) she would have to stay there longer.  Of course, she already knew that too.

I share this blog with you today because if there is something you’ve been wanting to “know,” and haven’t been able to figure it out on your own, she might be able to help.

Maybe if you’re not sure if your legs ache or not, you could just ask her…

She’s cute.

I know.

Blog to you soon,

Hilary

P.S.  I came across a song I wrote that hasn’t been published but I made a demo of.  I will post it on my blog soon – just waiting to get the right program so you can listen to it.  I’ll tell you more about the song when I post it.

Is it the song that got left off the “If I Only Had Today” Album? I would love to hear that song someday.

    She is so cute!

I’ve been working out too. I wonder if she knows that every single muscle and bone in my body is sore? :)

Sounds like she would get along great with my 4-year-old — but she probably already knew that :)

Can’t wait to hear the song!

I am looking forward to seeing you at TOFW this year :)

I never write on people’s blogs that I don’t know. But I do read people’s blogs I don’t know. :<) I feel like I know you a little bit from several TOFW events. But now I just want to tell you thank you for a CD that has brought me much peace and solace the last couple weeks. I lost my little sister to breast cancer on March 4th. She would be 40 next week, about the same age as you. She fought a good fight for seven years but could not win. In January she was told it was terminal and that she had just weeks to live. I was going to give her your CD "If I only had today" for her birthday. She died the day I flew to AZ to see her, I missed her by only minutes. I have regret and sorrow for the words I wanted to say but didn't get to, but I also feel blessed to know she is no longer suffering. Her four young children are missing her and your CD brings me peace when I just want to cry. Thank you for sharing your talent to ease so many of us who are in pain. I get to keep that CD now for myself. And that is good too.

She and Grace must be related because Oh MY Gosh, she “knows” everything too!! I swear that child tells me she “knows” something 20 times a day!!!

I love that age. They are so matter of fact. Now for the workout, come ON!
Love reading your post and listening to your music. Keep them coming! I’m fan from way back.

Enjoy this part! When she gets a little older she will forget who left the milk out, where she left her church shoes, what her homework is and what time she’s suppose to be home. hehehe
