Look What I Made…

I have been needing a little “refill” time.  You know how that goes…(I hope.  I’d hate to think I’m the only one who hits a wall.)

So, in an effort to do some “refilling” – I made a cake!  I love to cook!  I love to just let my mind relax, follow a recipe and then EAT the creation!  I found this recipe in a Taste of Home magazine and it looked so fun to try.  I learned a few “what not to do’s” that I’ll remember for next time!

I also love to digital scrapbook – it is my new addiction…well, at least, I’d like to make it an addiction!  So, I spiffed up the picture to make it look Christmas-ee for your enjoyment!

I hope you can afford to take time to do a few things that refill your bucket!

Blog to you soon,

Hilary

P.S. The cake tasted good - even though I’m not a huge chocolate fan.  I know, I’m weird.

Both the cake and the picture look great. I am chocolate fan, not like Sister 4E, but I would have helped you eat that beautiful creation. then went and got on the treadmill for an hour.

My sister hates chocolate and I hate butter. I don’t think we are weird.

LOVE the look of the cake. VERY cool! I’m planning an amazing 30th relaxing b-day for myself in January! Start a new decade with relaxation!

My 3 year old daughter Lucy was sitting on my lap when I was reading this post and she said “Mom buy some chocolate and strawberries so you can make that cake for me, okay !” :) Thank you for sharing

That looks DELICIOUS! I love chocolate – so I’m sure I would love it! Hubby is our “non-chocolate” person.

I’m planning to make Oreo Truffles in the not too distant future. :)

Will you share the recipe? What is stuck in the top of the berries? Luckily my husband and I both have a passion for cooking. It is a great way to feel accomplishment. Although….our waistlines are proof of our love for good food. But, it is so worth it.

    Happy Christmas!!!

Don’t worry, I love chocolate enough for the both of us.
What program do you use for your digital scrapbooking?

Are those treble clefs? Great looking cake. I’ll have to think about cooking a version of it for my middle son’s next birthday (the family violinist). Good for you knowing when to take a break. I usually figure it out about the time that people are giving me odd looks and I realize I’m standing on a piece of furniture screaming… Okay, it’s not quite that bad, and thank goodness I’m learning to take a break sooner. Thanks for sharing!

What a wonderful concert today at SouthTowne. Thank you, especially, for singing Ring the Bells. Love that song! I had the pleasure of sitting next to your mom at the concert. I mentioned in passing about your cake pictured above, and asked if she’d had a piece. She smiled and said yes, and then laughed as she spoke of your discovery afterward that each piece had 900 or so calories. She didn’t dare have more than one piece! But she said it was delicious, and she’s so glad that you and your sister have become wonderful cooks.

I agree with Cheyenne. I eat enough chocolate for both of us. It’s really a sick sick issue.

Looks delish! And hooray for digi-scrappin! It is my “out”. At night, kids are in bed…all is quiet…just me, my laptop, some Hilary Christmas songs, and Photoshop.Ahhh…nothin’ sounds better. ;)

Oh that looks wonderful! I think chocolate and strawberries are one of the greatest combos out there! And taste of home is one of my very favorite sites for recipes! When I need a break I love to wrap presents and make them look like a small peice of art. I have really splurged this year and made extravagent ribbon creations! It is fun and doesnt hurt my waistline as much as a chocolate! Thanks Hilary…always love your blog!

The picture of the cake looks as if it was professionaly taken. Do you have some sort of in-house photographer that lives with you?
